Ready, set, BLOG!

7 / 21 / 147 / 21 / 14

Hello!! My name is Amanda, and this is my new blog. I won’t go into detail about myself here, as you can go read about that in the “About me” section real quick. Go ahead, I’ll wait for you!

However, here’s a little snippet of why I’m here…

I started this blog after realizing I needed a space and an outlet to just be me. I am a stay-at-home mom to a beautiful little 8 month old girl named Jade. While I absolutely positively love being home with her, I found I was so wrapped up in her (I mean, who couldn’t be?!) that I forgot some of the fun things I enjoy doing.  Being creative, doing DIY projects, decorating, thrift store shopping, and organizing our house are just a few of the things I had put aside while navigating this new adventure called “motherhood.” I’ve been itching to start having some fun again and see what new things I can come up with for our little home! I’m so glad you stopped by to check it out!

I’m so excited to be on this new blogging adventure. I love doing different projects around our house, especially when I can do them myself, and even more especially when I can do them for CHEAP!! I’m talking reusing things we already have, or thrift store shopping. Who’s with me?!

Our house is pretty small. It’s just a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, but is just enough space for our little family of 3. And 2 kitties. Even though it’s quaint and we’ve only lived here together 3 years, it’s already so full of memories! David proposed to me in this house (he bought it and lived here a year before we were engaged), and we brought home our sweet baby girl Jade here almost 9 months ago.

Here’s what it looked like when David moved in! (And yes, even though I wasn’t living here yet, I still was already painting and decorating!)

Our house

The whole house was an ugly beige color, so (I?) we decided to paint the living room and kitchen gray. What a difference it made! We also have since gotten rid of those ugly halogen lights and put up newer track lights, as well as removed the chandelier and replaced it with a little more modern drum shade light.

And, here’s us painting and getting it all pretty…

Isn’t he a cute painter?

Ugh, who else hates the taping portion of painting?? I don’t mind the painting part, it’s the prep work that’s a drag!

We even painted a fun accent wall green. I love bright colors! And I love green!

Sorry for the terrible picture quality…

We’ve done a lot to our house since, and we still have more to do. It’s always a work in progress, isn’t it?

Thanks for stopping by and reading my very first blog post! Be sure to check back soon for some fun projects I’ll be working on. A hint…. one project involves a baby. Another one involves our front door. Any ideas? Guess you’ll just have to come back and find out!

Have you done any fun home projects lately?
