20 DIY Sentimental Gifts for Your Love (That are Budget Friendly!)

Yay weekend! I normally post on Fridays, but my poor little baby has been sick. It’s the hardest thing in the world to see your baby crying and feeling awful, but not knowing what hurts and how to fix it. Thankfully she’s better today, so here I am!

20 Gifts Main PicValentine’s day is a week from today. Yikes! Do you have a gift for your spouse/significant other yet? David and I don’t really celebrate, and don’t get each other big gifts. We like to make dinner at home (rather than fighting to get reservations at a restaurant), and give each other something sentimental. I’ve been looking around for some fun and meaningful gifts for David, and I’ve rounded up some of my favorites for you! These are all super budget friendly or FREE. Can’t beat that, right?!

These 20 DIY sentimental gifts aren’t just for Valentine’s day. They’re perfect for a wedding gift, anniversary gift, birthday gift, or an anytime gift! They are sure to tell your sweetheart just how much you love them. And, save a little money, too. πŸ™‚

(If you’d like to pin these gift ideas, please pin them from their original source and give them the credit they deserve for these fab ideas. If you’d like to pin the whole collection, you can use the above collage photo! Thanks!)

    1. You are more than welcome, Lauren! All of these gift ideas are so sweet, and I just couldn’t NOT include yours! I kinda hope my hubby doesn’t read this post because there are several I think he’d like. Or, he’ll just have to act surprised. πŸ˜‰ Those Best Day Ever keychains would make super cute wedding gifts! Thanks so much for the pin! Hope you had a lovely weekend, friend. πŸ™‚

  1. Thanks for these cute gift ideas! I have to say Uncommon Goods has been my favorite website for 3 years now because it has so many creative gifts I’d never think to get. Because I’ve known my husband since kindergarten, it feels like we’ve run through every gift idea under the sun, but when I came across that website I was thrilled it differed from the usual CD, DVD, and video game selection. And I’m also a huge fan of mugs but we’re running out of cabinet space. I agree with you about staying home for Valentine’s Day though. I love to go to dinner but lately we’ve encountered limited menus with higher prices due to it being a holiday and staying home can be so much nicer.

    1. Thank you, Corinna!! I can’t say I’ve gotten to see much on Uncommon Goods, but that’s so good to know they have some great gift ideas!! My hubby is so hard to buy for, so I’m always looking for ideas. That’s also why I put this little collection together! Yes, my hubby isn’t a huge crowd guy either, and of course V-day is always packed at any restaurant. It works out great for us though, we just put our little one to bed and can spend the rest of the evening together! AND, it’s waaaay less expensive than going out, too. πŸ™‚ Hope you had a great weekend!

  2. I’m so glad you shared all these ideas. I really don’t like to give gifts that don’t have meaning, especially for my husband. There are so many good ideas to choose from here!

    1. Thank you, Eva! I totally agree. My husband and I are much more a fan of sentimental gifts that have meaning rather than buying something we don’t really want. Hope you can find some inspiration from these beautiful ideas! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Stephanie! I’m so glad these could help inspire your V-day gift! I always struggle too; but now I won’t! Hopefully for a few years, anyway. πŸ™‚ The $0 Anniv. gift is SO cute! Hope you’re having a great week!

  4. Love these ideas. My husband and I are attending a fundraising dinner and dance which is supporting my son’s rep football team. Dinner is looking decadent and the dance should be a great time with friends.

    1. Thank you Teresa! That dance and dinner sound so fun, I hope you guys have a great time! We will be at home having a “Date-night-in” instead. πŸ™‚ We have a movie to rent, an a bottle of wine. Someday we’ll go out and about again on Valentine’s day! πŸ™‚ Hope your week is going great!

    1. Thanks, Jenna! I’m so glad there were a few gift ideas in here you liked! They would all be so easy to make, and I’m sure any man would LOVE to get something this special! πŸ™‚ Congrats on your wedding, too!

  5. These are all such adorable ideas! I loved the picture pop-up box. I want to give my husband something really special for our one-year anniversary and this list gave me some great ideas. I definitely want to incorporate pictures from our wedding, but I am not the most creative. I might order a cute picture collage we can hang on our wall. I think he would love something like that.

  6. Hi Amanda,
Just have to say this is a great ideafor spouses.
However in your picture you have multiple files then the ones you discribed please tell me what those are too please thank you very much

    1. Thanks Michael! Are you referring to the main collage photo? All pictures in the collage have the blog/website listed below under each individual picture where you can find further instructions. Let me know if you’re having trouble finding what you’re looking for!

  7. Hmmm it’s kind of DIY but there’s a thing called NoteCube (http://thenotecube.com) which is basically a stylish cube filled with notes you’ve written about him. So you’d write things about what you love about him, memories you have together, what you hope to do etc. you write them all on the site once you’ve bought the NoteCube and then they send it to you packaged. Could be a nice idea!

    1. Hi Lauren! I’ve never heard of that website, but that’s such a cool idea!! My hubby would love something like that. Thanks for sharing! πŸ™‚

  8. Hi Amanda, those are some creative gorgeous looking DIY gifts. I am more obsessed with the A-Z cards and also the DIY valentine logs. The photo-box also looks simple but unique. Simply said, I love them all πŸ™‚ Thanks a lot for the share and keep up the good work here.

    Cindy

    1. Hi Cindy! Thank you so much! There are some great ideas that are easy for everyone to try, and any spouse or significant other would love them! πŸ™‚

  9. These are pretty awesome gift ideas for your loved ones, I like pop up photo box and create your own story book. Personalized Song Lyric Plate that’s a good one too I like the vintage touch on these gifts, which makes even sentimental. Just curious to know what do you put inside memory Jar?

    1. Thanks Sheldon! I haven’t yet made a memory jar, but I’d probably put in things that are sentimental to the relationship. I might have to make one for my husband sometime soon! πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!
